King-Edqux Robinson, 2015-16 M. C. Ginsberg Artist-in-Residence, has begun working with 3rd and 4th graders in the Iowa City Community School District elementary schools, focusing on dance and creative movement. As Artist-in-Residence of the M. C. Ginsberg Jewelers Community Arts Program, Mr. Robinson will present to each elementary school from December- May. Mr. Robinson works at The Dream Center as the Head Youth Coordinator. He has organized and implemented the program structure, and immerses students in the arts; particularly dance. He is the instructor and choreographer for The Dream Divas. King has a Theatre degree from Pomona College in Claremont, CA.
Since 1991, the M. C. Ginsberg Jewelers Community Arts Program has annually supported a local artist to work between six and ten hours per week in each elementary school in the Iowa City Community School District. The selected artist instructs third and fourth grade students in projects related to current academic studies such as language arts, social studies, math, and science.
